IDA to provide funding to boost contactless E-payments

CONTACTLESS e-payment, using mobile phones to tap and pay for everyday items and services for instance, is set to get a further leg up with a new government initiative. The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) yesterday issued a call for collaboration (CFC) to boost the presence of contactless point of sales (POS) terminals in Singapore, giving consumers more outlets to make e-payments in future. The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) today announced the selection of StarHub's proposal for the Next Generation National Broadband Network Operating Company (Next Gen NBN OpCo) Request For Proposal. Under its proposal, StarHub will establish the Next Gen NBN OpCo, called Nucleus Connect, to design, build and operate the active infrastructure.
