The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) is launching ‘Superincubator,’ a 16,000 sqm physical space for startups, incubators and service providers. This is another effort of Singapore to grow its startup scene.
As part of a broader initiative by MDA known as the Mediapolis Phase Zero, it aims to accelerate the development of next-generation consumer applications.
The super incubator aims to provide incubation space for startups at affordable rates as well as bring major players in the Interactive Digital Media sector under one roof to promote collaboration opportunities. The building will comprise seven floors with the size of typical unit size ranging from 90 – 95 sqm at an average rental rate of S$16 per sqm.
NUS Enterprise and Interactive Digital Media Program Office are the main players involved in the building of this incubator.
The super incubator will be available from Jan 2011 to Dec 2013 and startups can enjoy 3-months rent free if they sign up for this space before 31 Dec 2010.
