Director of the Industry Division, Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA)
Selwyn Scharnhorst is the Director of the Industry Division of Singapore’s Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA).
He formulates policies to grow the infocomm, media and design industries and to harness infocomm, media and design as enablers to boost Singapore’s overall economic competitiveness.
Prior to MICA, Selwyn served in various positions in DSO National Laboratories, Ministry of National Development, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Transport.
Selwyn is an officer of the Singapore Administrative Service and a recipient of the 2004 Defence Technology Prize for R&D Teams. He read Physics at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and was a Sloan Fellow at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
