Investment in Twilio

I am thrilled to share that Infocomm Investments has just completed an investment into Twilio, joining a stellar group of investors that include Bessemer Venture Partners, Union Square Ventures and 500 Startups (led by Dave McClure, a frequent visitor to Singapore and familiar figure to the tech scene here).
Twilio is a cloud communications startup based in San Francisco that provides infrastructure API’s for developing scalable voice and messaging applications. Twilio is one of the truly disruptive platforms on the web today. It abstracts the proprietary, complex world of telecommunications into API’s that web developers can use — rapidly, simply and scalably.
At the same time, Twilio has opened up an entire ecosystem of developers, startup’s and users building and consuming innovative services based on its platform. The company has experienced tremendous growth, counting more than 100,000 developers in its community and expanding into Europe. We see great growth potential for Twilio in Asia, with Singapore a natural base for its Asian entry. We are excited to be working with Jeff Lawson and team in carrying its momentum over.
