Each member of the Strategic Investment Committee (SIC) brings with them valuable networks, expertise and experience in venture capital, entrepreneurship and industry development, and provides guidance to investments put forth by the management team of Infocomm Investments.
Mr. Lee Kheng Nam(Chairman)Venture Partner, Granite Global Ventures Board Member, Infocomm Investments Mr Lee is currently Chairman of Advantec Pte Ltd, an investment holding company. From March 1995 to February 2004, he was the President of Vertex Management Pte Ltd and executive Director of Vertex Venture Holdings Ltd (VVH), which were wholly-owned subsidiaries of Singapore Technologies Pte Ltd (’ST Group’) engaged in the venture capital direct investment and fund management business. He is currently Chairman of Vertex Management (II) Pte Ltd and Vertex Venture Holdings Ltd. Mr Lee is also Venture Partner of Granite Global Ventures since 2004. Mr Lee is a director of 2 listed companies - Creative Technology Ltd and China Finance Online Co Ltd. He formerly served on the board of Centillium Communications, Inc, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd, GRIC Communications Inc., ActivCard Corp and Gemplus International S.A. Prior to joining the ST Group, Mr Lee was with the NatSteel group of companies as the Manager of the Project Development Department and the Ministry of National Development where he was Deputy Director of Planning. Mr Lee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (First Class Honours) from Queen’s University, Canada and a Master of Science degree in Operations Research and Systems Analysis from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. |
Mr. Chua Kee Lock (Member) President & CEO, Vertex Management Mr Chua is currently the President and CEO of Vertex Management Holdings. Previously, he was President & Executive Director of Biosensors International Group Ltd. Before Biosensors, Kee Lock was the Managing Director of Walden International Singapore Pte Ltd, a company dealing with software/IT services and electronics/digital consumer sectors, from 2003 to 2006. He also assisted and held various senior executive roles in several Singapore-listed companies, including Deputy President of NatSteel Ltd., President/CEO of Intraco Ltd and President & Co-founder of MediaRing.com. Between 2005 and 2006, he was the Chairman of the Singapore Venture Capital & Private Equity Association. Mr Chua graduated with Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin and a Master of Science of Engineering from Stanford University. |
Mr. Tan Bien Chuan (Member)Co-founder & Managing Director, OWW Capital Partners Mr. Tan is the co-founder and Managing Director of OWW Capital Partners Pte Ltd, a venture capital firm. He has more than 20 years experience in venture capital, investment banking and finance. Since co-founding the OWW Group in 1991, he has been responsible for setting the investment strategy and overall management of the OWW Group. Mr. Tan has been lead investor in more than 19 companies in Greater China and South East Asia in the plastic moulding, agrotechology, pharmaceuticals, IT, internet, food, logistics and other service industries. Presently, he is a director of Goodpack Limited and CEI Contract Manufacturing Limited (both listed on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited) and several private companies. He was previously the Corporate and Business Development Manager of WBL Corporation Ltd and also with Standard Chartered Merchant Bank Asia Ltd specialising in investment banking. Mr. Tan received a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Computer Science and Accounting from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. |
Mr. Peng T. Ong (Member)Chairman, Infocomm Investments Board Director, National Research Foundation Board Director, SingTel Trustee, Singapore University of Technology & Design Currently, Peng chairs Infocomm Investments Pte Ltd (IIPL), a venture fund with US$200M under management which promotes innovative information & communication technology businesses in Singapore. He is also an independent board director of SingTel and a strategic consultant to The IBM Company.Peng is a member of the Board of Trustees of the newly formed Singapore University of Technology & Design. He is on the board of COMPASS (Community and Parents in Support of Schools) and serves as an advisor to the School of Computing at the National University of Singapore. Peng founded Encentuate in 2002 to provide enterprises digital identity systems. He was an executive at IBM from Encentuate’s acquisition by IBM in March 2008, through May 2009. Prior to founding Encentuate, Peng was the founder and chairman of Interwoven, Inc. (now Autonomy), the leading provider of content infrastructure. He was the president and CEO of Interwoven through 1997, and its chairman through 2002. During his tenure at Interwoven he led the company to a successful IPO (NASDAQ: IWOV). In 2002, for his leadership in building Interwoven into the world’s leading provider of enterprise-class content infrastructure software, Peng was awarded the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign College of Engineering’s Alumni Award for Distinguished Service. Before Interwoven, Peng was co-founder and chief architect of Electric Classifieds, Inc.—the creators of Match.com. He has also held various engineering and management roles at Illustra (now IBM Informix), Sybase Inc., and Gensym Corporation. Peng co-authored numerous patents for technologies developed at Match.Com, Interwoven, and Encentuate. In 2001-2002, Peng served as one of the twenty members of Singapore’s Economic Review Committee. The ERC was a high-level committee whose task was to review the economic plans for the future of Singapore. He was a founding member of the Majulah Connection and contributes to the Action Committee for Entrepreneurship. Peng served on the board of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore from 2003 through 2009. Peng grew up in Singapore. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and received his Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign |
Mr. David Su (Member)Managing Partner, Matrix Partners China David Su is the managing partner of Matrix Partners China and leads the firm’s investments in the internet, wireless, digital media and medical technology.Prior to joining Matrix China, David was a co-founder and General Partner of TDF Capital China. Between 2000 and 2008, David led TDF’s investments in Baidu.com (NASDAQ:BIDU) and ACC Acoustic (2018.HK). He also invested in and worked on many of TDF’s portfolio companies including P-Cube (Acquired by Cisco systems), NuBB.com (Acquired by XSEL), Datou.com and Khanghui Medical. David was concurrently a partner of KPCB China Fund when TDF formed an alliance with KPCB in 2007. Prior to venture capital, David was the Managing Director of Greater China Operations at Lotus Development, IBM. In his six years at Lotus, David held various management, technology sales and services positions and was responsible for leading and signigicantly growing Lotus’ software and services business in the greater china region. David started his career with Port of Singapore Authority as a systems analyst focusing on developing and supporting container port operations systems. David graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computing Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. |
