Posted on September 7, 2009

US direct investments in Singapore exceeded US$100 billion in 2008, making it the largest investment destination for US multinational corporations (MNCs) in Asia.

This does not come as a surprise.  According to the US Department of Commerce, the return on the US MNCs’ investments in Singapore, at 18% for 2008, remains among the highest worldwide, outperforming the average return of 13.3% for the whole of the Asia-Pacific region and the 11% global average for the same period.
