Posted on May 20, 2010

In a recent release the by Swiss Business School IMD,  Singapore emerged as the first in the latest world competitiveness rankings, overtaking Hong Kong and the US for the first time.

IMD, which publishes the World Competitiveness Yearbook has evaluated 58 economies based on 300 criteria, including economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency and infrastructure.

The jump of Singapore’s ranking to top position is largely attributed to better economic performance (8th to 5th place) and business efficiency (4th to 1st place) relative to other economies.
