Registering Your Company

All registrations for businesses in Singapore are to be applied to the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).

Set up charges of a company in Singapore would typically be S$300 for incorporation of the company (with share capital) and $15 for application of the company name.

Key requirements for the registration of a Singapore company are as follows:

  • At least one shareholder and at least one director who is a Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Appointment of an auditor within 3 months of incorporation, unless exempted.
  • Appointment of a company secretary who is a local resident.

Start-ups from overseas have generally found it helpful to engage a professional firm (e.g. lawyers, accountants, chartered secretaries) or a service bureau that can swiftly assist in the preparation and filing of their application to register a company in Singapore.
